electric

thanks brit for sending this. brit and her boy are only able to see each other once a week. she saw this and thought it "so explains everything I feel."

i really appreciate this as well. i only see my boyfriend on weekends at the moment and though not all relationships can survive a long distance, i feel as though this period is making our love stronger.

  1. yeah, I live in the US and my boyfriend (who's a New Zealander) is in London... we see each other only after at least 8 weeks time apart. I live for the immediate embrace after all that time. And we are as strong as any normal-basis relationship.

  2. Its not the relationship that doesn't survive, its the people that don't let it...it is in your control and if you keep a positive attitude like the one you are displaying here, you will make it through. I've been long distance for a year and a half, and I'm looking at another year and a half, and it only makes things that much more amazing when we do spend time together :)

sucks. but it hasnt taken a toll on our relationship at all! i suppose long distance is as challenging as you make it

  4. IT SUCKS MY BOYFRIEND'S MOVING TO ENGLAND IN SEPTEMBER AND I'LL BE IN MALAYSIA :( so i can totally empathise with this. plus right now he's doing exams. fuck exams, love is more important, right?

  6. I only see my girlfriend twice a year at the moment...which is really suffering, and i think the insecure feeling is our biggest enemy. We still believe we can survive, and we are happy to have each other as the reason to wake up for.

*I LOVE LOVE this blog, it on my daily check list*

  10. I understand too. my BF is in Minnesota while i'm in NYC. our whole relationship has been long distance seeing each other every few months. everytime we meet for the first time is the most amazing feeling. i'm with anonymous "long distance is as challenging as you make it"

  12. If it really is true love you can try to make it survive long distance, if you can see eachother once a week it is not that bad to be honest.
I did try to have a long distance relationship from which I came out of two months ago. We were 'together' for a year, half of it was hell. Now I'm back in Spain for a couple of weeks before I leave once more. Really hope I don't fall back into the cycle. love can be so insane...

  13. We're in the same situation. It's just 100km between us but I'm working during the week and it's just the weekends that we're having for us. It's hard, since we got some problems now, but we're fighting and we're strong. Hopefully in September she'll be moving here, so the magic will be even greater.

  14. Oh god, I used to complain about my situation, because my boyfriend and I only see each other on weekends...but we both live in Spain, so now I think we're lucky...
It's hard, but when we finally see each other is like heaven...
    :)

  18. I totally agree with it being more electric when you meet. My boyfriend and I go months (usually 6 months apart, 1 together, repeat) without seeing each other, but we got engaged on Christmas and I'll be moving in with him at the end of May and we'll be getting married shortly after.

  19. I don't have a cutesy photo for you for this one, but it is one of my favourite quotes en francais:

l'absence diminue les médiocres passions, et augmente les grandes, comme le vent éteint les bougies, et allume le feu.

    translated to english:
distance is to love what wind is to fire...it extinguishes the small but enkindles the great.

  25. I just said goodbye to my dear boy this morning. He lives in Virginia and is in the Navy while I'm in Texas and about to go to college in Massachusetts. It's definitely hard but he's worth everything.

    I love him.

And this quote is totally true.
