LETTING GO TAKES LOVE
To let go does not mean to stop caring,
it means I can't do it for someone else.
To let go is not to cut myself off,
it's the realization I can't control another.
To let go is not to enable,
but allow learning from natural consequences.
To let go is to admit powerlessness, which means
the outcome is not in my hands.
To let go is not to try to change or blame another,
it's to make the most of myself.
To let go is not to care for,
but to care about.
To let go is not to fix,
but to be supportive.
To let go is not to judge,
but to allow another to be a human being.
To let go is not to be in the middle arranging all the outcomes,
but to allow others to affect their destinies.
To let go is not to be protective,
it's to permit another to face reality.
To let go is not to deny,
but to accept.
To let go is not to nag, scold or argue,
but instead to search out my own shortcomings and correct them.
To let go is not to adjust everything to my desires,
but to take each day as it comes and cherish myself in it.
To let go is not to criticize or regulate anybody,
but to try to become what I dream I can be.
To let go is not to regret the past,
but to grow and live for the future.
To let go is to fear less and love more
Remember: The time to love is short

ReplyDeletei've been trying hard everyday to let go. but i'm too scared to let go of him... because it means i no longer remember his smell, no longer remember his touch, no longer remember how he smiles and laugh at the silly things. but i'm trying everyday. i'm trying to learn that life is more than just about him. trying to feel and experience the world without him. because i know i'm brave and strong enough to do so. i just keep trying hoping one day i will walk tall...
ReplyDeletethank u thank u thank u for this post!!

ReplyDeleteI expressed a similiar insight on my blog about 'letting go' last month if you care to read - and ties in with this one in it's whole simplicity.

ReplyDeleteThis was a beautiful writing. I have been studying this topic for a long time. Here is an excerpt of an article I wrote, called The Evolution of Letting Go
ReplyDeleteWhen we begin to release for some time, naturally, the deeper programs start to surface all by themselves. In my experience, these programs such as grief, lust, anger, pride, insecurity, and all the rest are ALL based on the false assumption of their being an actual separate individual that suffers.
I really enjoyed reading this post. I also just made a post on letting go.
